Getting to Know Me
I do not currently play a sport but in high school I was a thrower on my schools track and field team for both the winter and summer seasons. I love doing many things, and track was one of them. Although I did enjoy track, I wouldn't say that it is something I am passionate about. But, one thing I am passionate about is my family. In my off time i love to spend as much time with them as possible.
Lying is something that my family does not take kindly to. Honestly i have never told a lie that was ridiculous because I knew if anyone found out the truth I'd be in a whole lot of trouble. When it comes to writing I've never been one to sit and clearly outline all of my thoughts because they never come to me that easily. As the thoughts come I just write, and at the end of my writing I just go through and revise. I've always been told that my writing is pretty good, but that all changes when you get to a college level English class. I feel like there are a countless number of things to be learned from this course.
I cannot remember that last time I read a book from cover to cover. I know that that is a big problem and that I need to read more, so that is what I plan on doing. Social media is full of quick reads which are often very interesting and that is why many people will read on a social media site but wont pic up a book.Social media is also a good way to get people to write more and express themselves. Personally I do not write on social media that often, except for when I am on twitter.
This semester I feel like it is most important to learn to ask for help when I need it and time management. This is something that my mom is very good at. She balanced four kids, a job, and getting an education. Honestly for this she is my definition of a hero. Although I had a hard first semester she she understood that everyone has a hard time with something in life. For me it was my math class. I have never been amazing at math but I was always able to pass math classes with a decent grade. This time was so different. I had failed my math class, but my mom encouraged me to try again and just to work harder and go for help whenever I need it. That was the first time I've ever failed at something and it was a huge disappointment to me.
I feel that I am between being a C and B writer. At a college level I believe that my writing has a lot of fixing that needs to be done. With the proper help that I need I feel that I could be an A writer,
